The Knife below was not only restored, it was customized for CWO-4 Marine Major Frank McKinney. Major McKinney served four tours in Vietnam and retired from the Marine Core with countless merits, medals and honors. While restoring this knife from Vietnam I left it with some divots, scratches and file notches to represent his years of countless missions and service. This knife paints a picture of a man whom served His Brothers, The Core, God and His Country. Like the knife, Major McKinney is stronger then ever, sharp as hell, yet still bares some scratches and divots form his many years of service. Thank You Major, this is my proudest work to date! PS Major McKinney tells me there is not a day that goes by without him holding and showing other officers his knife. Kabar gave him the original case for the 1209 and he doesn't let too many people touch it! LOL. |
